The increasingly dynamic global trade environment requires Jamaica’s agility in its business response.
At the execution level, Jamaica’s middle managers have always been integral to moving the nation forward. They, therefore, require constant development, relevant insight and networking opportunities for innovation.
A key response to this need is the 15th Annual Middle Managers Leadership Conference (MMC), a long-standing event supported by prominent Jamaican leaders. MMC is scheduled for April 29 and 30 and hosted by the Make Your Mark Group (MYMG).
This year’s conference, themed ‘A Legacy of Change, Transformation & Execution’ will be held in a hybrid format at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston and online. The event aims to provide professional development and networking opportunities for middle managers and other professionals in Jamaica.
The Middle Managers Leadership Conference has consistently drawn participation from key figures in Jamaica’s government and business sectors over the years. The upcoming conference will feature discussions led by industry experts and thought leaders.
Notable past presenters at the MMC include Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, who, in a 2011 presentation when he served as Minister of Education & Youth, underscored the critical role of middle managers in the successful implementation of organizational change. He stated, “You are the ones with the knowledge. You are the ones who actually have the experience of doing… and organisations should try as best as possible to secure our middle managers because they are the ones who will effect change strategies.
”This past endorsement highlights the ongoing relevance of the conference’s focus on this segment of the workforce in Jamaica.
The conference agenda is designed to cover a range of topics relevant to leadership in today’s business environment. Additionally, the MMC Pitch Competition offers a platform for participants to develop their public speaking skills.
The list of past distinguished presenters at the MMC also includes Thalia Lyn, Founder & Deputy Chair at Island Grill; Richard Byles, Governor of the Bank of Jamaica; Audrey Tugwell-Henry, President & CEO of Scotia Group Jamaica; Christopher Levy, President & CEO of Jamaica Broilers Group; and Novia McDonald-Whyte, Author and Editor. Their involvement over the years suggests the conference’s significance within the Jamaican business community.
Registration for the Middle Managers’ Leadership Conference 2025 is open until April 22nd. Further details can be found on the conference website at www.MakeYourMarkGroup.com .
