Pointing to a number of factors which continue to stifle productivity, Jacqueline Coke-Lloyd, managing director of Make your Mark Consultants, said a possible solution could be better execution of laws and policies.
These are some of the issues she said will be raised at the organisation’s productivity and continuous improvement conference, which is slated for October 24.
Coke-Lloyd told The Gleaner that it is critical that organisations seek to strengthen the core values of good business operation, in addition to making sure that people are respected.
“To achieve productivity and growth, we need a holistic education system, good governance, strategy and measurement by businesses, execution of policies and laws, and an emphasis on family,” Coke-Lloyd said.
“This conference will serve to provide productivity solutions and good practices for organisations and their team members,” she continued.
The managing director also noted that participants will be exposed to topics which include research findings and improving productivity in Jamaica’s services sector, strategic performance improvement and capacity development – new dimensions, among other content.
Some persons expected to address the conference are Robert Wynter, chief executive officer at Strategic Alignment Limited; William Mahfood, head of Wysinco; Ruel Reid, education minister, among others.
